Japanese Blueberry Tree

The Japanese blueberry tree (Elaeocarpus decipiens) is an evergreen tree native to East Asia, typically growing 20-40 feet tall with a dense, symmetrical canopy. It features glossy, dark green leaves that can turn red or bronze before falling. In spring, it produces small, fragrant white flowers, followed by dark blue, inedible berries. The tree thrives in well-drained soils and full sun to partial shade. Valued for its ornamental foliage and minimal maintenance, the Japanese blueberry tree is commonly used in landscapes for hedges, privacy screens, and as a specimen tree.
