Sugarberry

Sugarberry (Celtis laevigata) is a medium to large deciduous tree native to the southeastern United States. It typically grows 50-70 feet tall with a broad, rounded crown. The tree has light green, serrated leaves and produces small, sweet, orange-red to dark purple berries that attract birds and wildlife. Sugarberry thrives in moist, well-drained soils and is tolerant of various soil types, including clay and sandy soils. It's commonly found along riverbanks and in floodplains.
